Between 1916 and 1946, George Herriman drew weekly the one-sided newspaper comic "Krazy Kat". Whether working on serial
production of cartoons or researching methods for construction simple plots or conceptual repetitive art practice,
"Krazy Kat & Ignatz the Mouse" always crossed my path. While repeatedly reading the digital Collected Issue I noticed
that the comic's typical frome of individual drawings differed from sheet to sheet. Even more! They were numbered and
had their own exciting plot within the layout.
Since 2016, I am working on editing approximately 1,400 digital sheets - deleting all of the drawings so only the frames
and numbers are left behind. I need about one hour per sheet for this. Sheets are printed on newsprint 42x59cm.
The size of the drawings is the same as the size of the original print. The price of 30 euro for each sheet corresponds to the
gross hourly wage of a designer, plus material costs.
